SYDNEY, July 6. —The new ferry steamer, South Steyue, widen was recently launched in .S-..vn:iand and which will soon start on her maiden voyage to Sydney-, has been specially built lor the Port Jackson and Manly S.S. Company, Ltd., by Henry Robb, Ltd., Leith. a firm which is acknowledged as oiie of Great Britain’s leading builders of small steamers. The new ferry, which will run between Sydney and Manly, is 220: t. long and 38ft. wide, and win be capable of carrying about 2000 passengers. Her 3250 horse-powfev engines will be capable of driving the vessel at 17 knots. She will be the fastest and most powerful ferry in the British Empire. * *
