“IT’S ALL YOURS Sparkling with bright comedy, “It’s AH Yours” betrays a captivating charm which pi’oves absolutely irresistible, credit for which must go to Miss Carroll and Lederer for their scintillating interpretations of the light romantic leads; to Misclia Auer, for several most hilarious comedy scenes and. to Director Elliott .Nugent for an effective balancing of comedy and dramatic values. The sprightly, mirthful tale is further enhanced by finely drawn performances in supporting roles by Grace Bradley,'George McKay, Victor Kilian, J. G. Nugent and Richard Carle.
The story concerns shy young Jimmy Barnes who arrives in America from Europe to join the law firm of his uncle. Jimmy, spends months having a good time, and the result is that after a few years young Barnes is the talk of the town. To bring him back to earth the elder Barnes enlists the aid of his mouse-like secretary, Linda Gray. On his death bed, he leaves his fortune to Linda, whom he knows to be in love with Jimmy, hoping thus to bring them together. How Linda- goes to town, with Jimmy in tow to prevent her from spending all the money and with Misclia Auer making a competitive bid for her affections, provides the hilarious comedy denouement. “SOME BLONDES ARE DANGEROUS “Some Blondes Are Dangerous,” an adaptation of W. R. Burnett’s famous story “The Iron Man,” will be screened Wednesday and Thursday at the De Luxe Theatre. “Some Blondes. Are Dangerous” is the story of a prizefighter whose spectacular rise to fame blinds him to the true values of life. As a result, he throws ovef the fine and loyal girl he really loves and marries a- glamorous grasping gold-digger, wiiose real aim is to. use him as a moans by which she may climb to lame on the Broadway stage. In defeat, lie regains his perspective and is reconciled with bis boyhood sweetheart, but only after lie has tasted the dregs of humiliation and defeat.
Noah Beery, Jr. is oast as the pugilistic “iron man,” whose courage and muscle far outweigh his thinking prowess. William Gargan ’g nis manager.
