Both mafehines were made in Australia. The tractor is mounted on pneumatic tyres, the two large ones cn tlie back having measurements of 10.50 *x 20 with an xim. pressure. The machine already has done some work in the Manutuke district, and those who have seen it in action have been greatly impressed with the results. It takes a 4ft. cut, breakings tlie ground lip in one operation ready for seeding to any depth ranging up to 9ih. The soil is broken to a particulhrly fine tilth, such excellent cul--tivation having its effect in-, producing bigger and better crops. •In rough country, the machine is particularly valuable. It is able to break down tall growths cf manuka, and to render it down into such fine, scraps that tlie land is immediately ready for planting, the crop. ft. treats rush paddocks just as .effectively.
