Solznick's. magnificent film production of “1 he Prisoner of Zenda” begins a threeday engagement there with Ronald. Column, Madeleine Carroll and Douglas ..Fairbanks, Jr. playing the leading roles. Column plays the dual role of King Rudolf V and the adventurous Rassendyll in this tale of Jove and intrigue among the courts of Europe, which John Cromwell directed from a screen-play which John L. Raiderston and Wells Root, based on Edward Rose's dramatisation of the Anthony Hone novel. Miss Carroll plays the beautiful Princess Flavia and young Fairbanks is seen as the dashing Rupert of Hentzau. Also prominently featured in the cast are Mary Astor, C. Aubrey Smith, Raymond Massey and David Niven.

The story is crammed with action, presented in smooth continuity, amlbuikling to a smashing climax. . It has suspense, great romance, spectacle, comedy, and an ingenious plot.
