NO AG REEMEINT REACHED HOARD'S PRICE TOO LOW?. .-No arrangement was reached by growers and the Internal Marketing Bbard’s representative at a meeting held hi Gisborne on Friday night to endeavour to arrange a satisfactory l^isis for the- marketing of the new season's maize crops. Representatives of »both the Poverty :Jiay Maize Growers’ Association and the, Ray of Plenty Maize Grow-ers’-Association were present to meet Mr Fraser,’ representing the board. The board maintained that a minimum opening price <H| 4s l Jd per bushel, f.0.b., would be <1 compromise between the growers and the poultry and pig producers, but the growers could not see their way t) accept an agreement on\ that basis ' . 4 Growers’ representatives pointed out that the costs of production had gone up, and i the matter was discussed thoroughly, hut without any agreement being reached.
