Johnson was the scene of much gaiety 011 Sunday afternoon and evening, when their youngest daughter. 1* reda, celebrated, her coniin^-of-age. A sumptuous tea was partaken of, the guest of honour being surrounded by Irionds from Whakutano and Opotiki. A beautiful cake with 21 candles held the place of honour and after the presenting of a golden key by her father, Miss Johnson cut tin 1 cake and distributed it among the guests.
A pleasing feature was tin* presence of the guests close relatives, living Mr and Mrs V. Allen and sun. and Mr Charles Johnson of AA'hakatane, Miss X. Johnson, and her mother and lather.
The evening was spent in musical items and community singing. Miss Johnson was the recipient of many beautiful presents.
