Mrs H. Ash and Miss Mary 'Shalloon have returned ' from a holiday visit to Auckland.

CARD EVENING AT KUTARERIfe LABOUR PARTY FUNCTION The Kutarero branch ef the New Zealand Labour Party held a very •successful card-evening at the residence of Mr and Mrs D. G. Forbes on Monday evening last, a- large crowd of card enthusiasts , from' Opotiki being in attendance.

Flag 500 was played, Mrs K. iNewtli. Mrs H. Newtli, Mr C. Pipe and Mr Steed, being the winners. Consolation prizes wore awarded to Mrs S. lv. Webb, Mrs J. O’Sullivan junr., Mr MeMlillan, and Mr D. McMillan. Mrs T. Palmer was the winner ef the travelling prize.

A dainty supper was served, after which the M.C.. Mr Rodman, presented the prizes. Mr Darrell, president of the Kutarero Branch, then thanked all present for their patronage and a vote of thanks to Mr and Mrs Forbes was carried in the usual way.
