FOREMAN’S REPORT The works report for June was sub-, mitted to the Opotiki Borough Council on Tuesday night as follows Street.^. —Roads patched with river metal, approximately 50 yards. Roads graded and intersections formed up. Intersections in Church and St. John Streets swept. 240 chains' of water tables cleaned out and spoil carted away. Potholes patched on main; highway, Church and Bridge Streets. Richard Street- water table lifted to permanent grade and foundation laid' lor curb and channel. Approximately 140' chain of drains cleaned and most of spoil carted to dump. New table drain cut in Wellington Street. Blackberry cut on most Streets and carted to dump. Two new crossings put in, metalled and rolled, and crossings lowered in High and Wellington Streets and Church Street Street north.
Footpaths: Holes in footpath at King Street and corner Ford and Church Streets patched with permix. Weeds grubbed off footpaths in Church and Richard Strets.
Water: Three blow-outs repaired. Several stopcocks renewed. Two new water services installed. Dam scoured out and intake cleaned. Fire plugs cleaned. General: Doors repaired on main shed and oil room completed. Concrete slabs, pipes and bearers made at yard. Benzine dump at wharf reformed, metalled and rolled. Fence repaired at- Pott’s Avenue plantation. Lawns and cemetery mowed. Camping ground cleaned up. General maintenance carried out.
