OTARA DRAMA EVENING

. APPRECIATIVE AUDIENCE i, - A ; successful drama y-orgaii-V; ised by the members of the Otara. Women’s Institute, was held in St. John’s Hall on Friday night when a. very enjoyable programme, comprising three sketches and two mimes, was presented to a very appreciative audience. A feature of the programme was two vocal selections contributed bv Mir J. Young who was given a verywarm reception. Airs Stewart acted as announcer throughout the evening and Airs L>. Sinclair played accompanying music for the mimes.

The first play presented was “Beauty for Sale,” the cast including Airs W. A. Gault, Aliss J. Ross, Airs H. Jones, Alls K. Brown, and Aliss K. Lambert. The producer was Airs W.

Next on the programme was a mime, “Hiding Down ironi Motu” produced by Mrs K. Brown and enacted by Mrs C. Black, Mrs it.

|fV. Medley, .Mrs A. J. McCall ion and Mrs T. J. Palmer. Another play, ‘‘Cupid in. the Hat Shop,” followed, the parts being taken by Mrs H. Parkinson, Mrs It. A. Hcdley, Mrs K. Brown, Mrs J. Bingham, Mrs H. Jones and Miss J. Morice. The producer was Mrs C. Black.

A mime ‘‘Clementina” produced by Mrs' K. Brown, was enacted by Mrs K. Brown, Mrs J. Bingham, Mrs W. A. damt, Mrs Jones. The final play “Slow Curtain” produced by Mrs W. A. Gault, east-Mrs It. Medley, Mrs Palmer, Miss J. Morice, .Mrs Bingham, Mrs H. Parkinson and .Mis G. Manby. .

At the conclusion of the presentation, players assembled on the stage and all joined in singing the. National Anthem.
