HOARD OF GOLD COINS
' MANY CLAIMANTS LIKELY L ;v - wy ‘ - • PARIS, May 30. The hope cherished by the workmen, who found the long-hidden hoard of gold coins in the Latin quarter .is .diminishing. Three hundred of Louis Nivelle, who hid tlie'coins in the reign of Louis XV, including Mi Yves de Boisanger, deputy governor of the Bank of France, have been found. It is expected that more will be discovered in Ehgland, where- the branch of the family settled in 1770. Workmen were demolishing an old house Til the Latin quarter,. when a crowbar which was thrust through a wall revealed a long-hidden hoard of 5000 gold coins of the period of the reign of Louis XV, and now valued at £14,000. A parchment discovered with the hoard indicated that Louis Nivelle, secretary- to the King, bequeathed the money—liis entire fortune—to Ins daughter, Anne."
