Sale at Waioeka. * A clearing sale of stock and farm implements' on account of Air J. IS. Baverstoelc will he conducted' by the New Zealand Loan and APercimtde Agency Co. Ltd., on the ,i'ann. Waioeka, to-morrow. Clearing Sale. The dairy cattle of Airs R. Papuni and also of Air Sid. Haig, Tikitiki, will he offered for sale by - public auction by Alessrs Dalgety, and Co, Ltd., at the Opotiki saleyards on Thursday. Dog Poisoning. Three valuable gryehounds, owned by a Alasterton sportsman, were the latest victims of the outbreak of animal poisoning which began in January. Losses have been suffered hv dog fanciers in all parts of Alasterton, and all breeds of dogs have been affected. Recessed Car Door Handles.

There has appeared recently on the streets of Wellington a motor car with door handles completely recessed in the panels. Several accidents have occurred in New Zealand as the residt of people being struck by sharp car door handles. Vegetable Shortage. "White butterflies, diamond back moths, and floods are blamed for the considerably increased vegetable accounts being faced by Hastings housewives this winter. All greens are in exceptionally short supply and the root crops- have suffered. There appears to be a vegetable shortage all over New Zealand at present, many of the more common vegetables being in very short supply during the autumn. The position in Opotiki has been the worst for many years and cabbages and cauliflowers- have been at times right off the market-. The Weather. The regulations under which the election is conducted .110vide that the various districts shall elect twenty-five delegates who will constitute an Electoral Committee, and will assemble in "Wellington on the 25th. and 26th. August. 1938, ‘to consider the. hoard's annual repoit and balance sheet and to elect the two producers’ representatives on the hoard. In accordance with the provisions of the Export Control Act, toe members of the Board who are to retire in ,'August, are Alessrs Jas. Begg. Dunedin, and T. A. Duncan. Huncerville. ’Pliese gentlemen offer themselves for re-election as producers’ representatives on the board.
