YOITNG FARMERS ON TOUR V(Own Correspondent) A party cf JO young farmers representing all the Young Farmers’ Clubs in the Bay of Plenty, is at present touring the South Island. The party will be away about a fortnight. They visited the Waikato Winter Show before leaving for Dunedin and Queenstown. The Waimana Club was represented by six members, who are touring with the party. The names are: -Mr 11. AVoolfield, Mr E. Backhouse, Mr Paddy Clark, Mr R. White, -Mr Max ‘Wardlaw and Mr Wilfred Macdonald. WAIMANA LADIES’ GOLF CLUB The Waimana Ladies Golf CHub’ held their opening day on the Waimana links last Thursday afternoon. ;A handicap tourament was held. All's L. Ducker being the winner. After a dainty afternoon tea was served, the annual meeting was held. The following officers were elected: — Captain. Mrs G. J. Jerram. Vicecaptain. Airs J. Alitchell. Hon. secretary, Airs Al. King. NATIONAL PARTY FLAG 500 EVENING The first of a series of card: evenings to be held in aid of the National Party, was held last Wednesday evening, at the residence of Airs E. P. Woolfield, Waimana. Flag 500 was played, and enjoyed by all. The winners were Airs T. AA . V arc!law. Airs J. Alitchell, Air W. Stevenson and Mr C. Wylde. Alter’a dainty supper had been served by the members of the ladies’ committee. Airs C. P. Wylde, vice-president, thanked all present, for tlieir support, and also passed a hearty vote of thanks to Airs Woolfield for the pleasant evening and the use of her home. PERSONAL Alisses Ruby and Georgina Spanhake of Nukuhou North, are visiting Dvvonport, Auckland, and are the guests of Air and All's A. Bogue. Afrs H. AYardlaw of Waimana. is on holiday in Auckland. Mr and Airs E. Cranswick. of Nukuhou North, are visiting Auckland. Airs C. GeeAfl Te AVlmiti. is staying with her mother, Airs A. P. Wylde. Waimana.
