TO-DAY’S PIG SALE A SMALL WARDING Messrs Daigcty and Co. Ltd. report having held their fortnightly pig sale at the OpotikjL saleyards to-day. A small yarding came forward and baconer pigs of quality were very scarce but the usual number of buyers was present and competition for light baconors and porkers was keen. We quote:

Medium heavy baconors t<> LA Jos; lighter. I'M 4s to £3 12s; jankers, heavy and good quality, £2 lbs; Olliers, £2 4s to £2 8s; large store pigs, £1 ios to £1 1.8 s; others. £1 8s to £l 12s.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. report as follows :

A small yarding of pigs came forward and heavy baeouers were in short supply. No weaner pigs were offere.l. Haconoi's and porkers sold at lave rates. Good store pigs and slips show a small advance on late rates. Prices realised were:—Prime baconors. £3 Ids to £M 14s : light baconors, £3 Ms to £M lbs; heavy porkers, £2 I.os to £2 Los; light porkers. 38s to £2 bs; large stores. MOs to 375; small stores, 22s to 28s; slips, 11s to £1: chopper, to £2 9s.

WAIPffANA CLEARING SALE Messrs Dalgety. and Co. Ltd. report having held a successful clearing sale of grade dairy cows on account 01. Messrs E. and T. J. Wardlaw on their property at Waimana on 1* riday the lUth. June. A good attendance of buyers, who keenly sought these cattle, were responsible for a good average juice of £9 per head being realised. The top price paid was £l4. 12s (id for a good sort of an early calver, being a verywell bred beast and showing true to type. Other early calvers realised from £lO to £l2 lbs; later cows £8 15s to £9 10s. and November calvers, £6 IC's to £8 15s.
