The meeting opened with the reading of the aspirations and then the business was dealt with. Airs It. Smith then took the chair and gave an interesting talk on the growing of clematis. The roll call, “Alv most treasured possession and its history”, Was much enjoyed. Airs Hampton gave a most instructive address on the benefits to Be derived from physical culture, illustrated with exercises. A competition was won by Aliss Jurd. Other competitions for the afternoon were : Best article from sugar hag: Airs Smith .(apron), 1, Airs Cunningham (slippers) 2. Best sponge: Airs Smith 1, Aliss B. Du Pontet 2. Best vegetable: Airs P. Looney (lock) 1, Airs Smith (pumpkin) 2, Airs Aloore (carrot) 2. Best bloom: Alesdames L. V. Looney. Snell and Cunningham 1, Mrs Jeffery 2. Afternoon tea. was served by the hostesses. Alesdames J. Anderson, Jeffery and Snell. The singing of the National Anthem concluded the afternoon.
