V SUCCESSFUL CARD EV.ENINC There was an exceptionally large attendance at one of , the scries of card evenings organised l>v the committee of the local branch of the Labour Party, which was held at the residence of Air and Mrs J. J. Moody, , on Wednesday evening. Flag 500 was played, the successful, players - being Mrs Dodgson. Airs Dam, Air P. Kumbio and Air A. Litchfield. The t travelling Hag was won by Airs Bingham. Consolation prizes were awarded to Airs Lammas, Airs McCullough. Air Lammas and Air Grandison. A\ dainty supper was served by the ladies’ committee, during which Air 1 Bodmah. who was in charge of the card tables, presented the prizes. Air Bodman also took the opportunity of thanking Air and Mrs ALoody for the use of their home and for their hospitality. His vote of thanks was received with acclamation.
