WOMEN’S DIVISION F.U.
The monthly meeting of members ol the AV.D.F.F. was held in the Parish Hall yesterday when Airs A. E. Ala,tin presided over a good attendance. Proceedings opened with the Women's Creed, after which the minutes of the previous meeting were read and general business was dealt with. alls Alartin welcomed several new members who were present. Alls A. E. Alartin and Airs G. F. Joblin were chosen as delegates to attend the conference to be held in Wellington in July. A Golden Thread travel talk was contributed by Mrs HolJard who spoke of a recent motor tour of the North Island. Airs T. McDonnell gave a useful demonstration on the making of fudge cake, and a competition arranged by Airs Barbour, i. as won by Airs Fox. The competition for the best flower was won by Airs Xewth with. Airs G. Shalloon second, and Airs S. Alhxwell third. The best shrub competition was won by .Airs Co we. Airs Hollard was placed second and Airs Dain third. In the needlework competition, Airs McCullough gained first, second and third piizo. A sales table, in charge of Airs Neal did brisk business, everything being sold. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, AL s W. Burgess and Airs AV. Neal, who were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Airs Martin also proposed a vote of thanks to those who had contributed to the programme and a happy meeting was concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
