BOROUGH COUNCIL
FINAL MEETING The final meeting of the present borough council- Was held in the. borough chambers on Tuesday night. Present: The Mjayor (Mr. K ■ <^7 S. Moody), Cbuncillors T. G. Jolinson, F. J. Short,. A. G. Stevenson, S. E. Webb and the town clerk (Mr. W. H. Briggs). The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed. Accounts wer passed for payment as fellows :—District fund account, £147 Is 2d; wharf account, £1 ss. Lease.—The tender of Mr F. Alley of £lB, was accepted for sections near the Loan Coy’s premises.. Housing.—The clerk stated that the plan of the proposed State houses did not comply with the borough bylaws. The council, instructed the clerk to forward an amended plan to the Department which would do away with the difficulty. Sub-divisions.—Plans of proposed property sub-divisions were submitted to the council and approved. Health. —Mr A. G. Stevenson referred to. a drainage nuisance in a property in St. John Street and said the matter was very urgent. The council decided to take immediate steps to notify the sanitary inspector of the matter.
