Presentation. In view of his transfer to Kawakawa, Mr J. Gordon who was a member of the staff of the Opotiki Post Office, was the recipient of a travelling bag and a fountain pen, as gifts from members of the staff. In making the presentation the Postmaster, Mr A. P. Stuart, spoke with regret at Mr Gordon’s departure. Shed Removed. The removal of a store-shedi from the rear of the bakehouse at present occupied by Messrs Anderson Bros, to their new premises was an operation that attracted a large number of interested spectator? on Saturday. With the assistance of a tractor the shed was drawn along on skids, and for a few moments traffic in that part of Church Street was held up. Tha Weather. The following weather forecast for the 24 hours commencing, at 9 a.m. to-day was issued by the meteorological office: —The indications are for moderate southerly winds. There is a prospect of fair weather and cool. Barometer unsteady. Seas moderate to rather rough at times.
