Wardlaw, ' SGr’eenmeadows,” Waimana, in the Waimana Hall, in celebration of the twenty-first birthday of their only ,pon, Mr Archie Wardlaw. ’ y ; - Dancing with novelty dances.passed a very happy evening. The music for dancing was supplied by Mr McDougall and Miss M. Wardlaw contributed an extra. Mr Bernie Hughes capably acted as M.C. The winners of the Monte Carlo waltzes were Mr and Mrs P. Looney and Miss M. Stansbury. and Mr H. Stubbs. Streamers, confetti and balloons were handed out during the dancing, which caused much merriment. ; A most delicious home-made supper was served by the hostess, after which Mr R. Fleming presented the guest of honour with a gold key from his parents and a beautiful collection of gifts from all present. Mr A. Wardlaw then expressed his appreciation for the gifts, thanking all liis friends. A beautiful birthday cake, decorat ed with twenty-one candles, was then cut and handed round. The usual ttfasts were honoured in a bright manner. Dancing continued until the early hours of the next morning and 'thet-happy evening concluded with :“Auld Lang Syne” and the Nation-, al Anthem.
