BOWLING

EASTER TOURNAMENT PROGRESSIVE PAIRS A progressive pairs tournament was played at the Opotiki Citizens’ Bowling Club’s green on Monday. Twentyfour bowlers took part, six rinks being occupied. The green was inclined to be heavy owing to the recent heavy rains, biit the weather throughout the day was bright and warm, and the players thoroughly enjoyed the day’s outing. Those who participated in the games included several members of the Opotiki' Club. The honours were, carried off by Ohatfield deads) and Jamieson (skips), to whom the trophies were presented by the president of the Citizens’ Club (Mr ’S. M. Jeplison) at the conclusion of the day’s play.
