■ 31ONTHLY M KEVIN G (Contributed.) Mrs Sinclair presided over a small attendance owing to the very wet, afternoon. ’ Mrs Vanstoue gave a very interesting addrss on. the Napier Convention for which she was delegate. In the course of her remarks she said it was encouraging to see enthusiasm among the young people representing such a*, large number of earnest young people with high ideals. Bishop Bennett was an inspiration. He said the drinking amongst -Maoris, was causing grave concern. Mrs Rasper, an Auckland lady member of the W.C.T. U. who visited the Coronation and travelled a great deal elsewhere gave an excellent address. She specially mentioned the King’s proclamation that all who wished could drink his health with water. This has been largely circulated in pamphlet form. Mrs Vanstoue was thanked for her address. The hostesses for the afternoon who served a dainty afternoon tea, were Mesuames M'urray and Gordon.
