FORTNIGHTLY PIC SALE GOOD YARDING RECORDED Messrs Dalgety and Cb. Mtch report having held their fortnightly pig sale at the Opotiki saleyards on the 4th. April Avlien a good entry of all classes of pigs came forward, baconers predominating. Competition Avas keen and spirited bidding from a large bench of buyers resulted in the total clearance under the hammer. Unfinished pigs came to hand in large numbers and A r alue,s showed a slight decline for this class of pig. We quote : f , HeaA r y baconers £3 16s to £3 19s; medium, £3 10s to £3 16s; lighter, £3 3s to £3 10s. Heavy porkers, to £2 16s; medium, £2 8s t O , £2 15s ; lighter, £2 5s to £2 Bs. Butter-milk pigs, £1 15s to £2 6s; slips, good sorts, 255. Weaners, none came to hand. Choppers, to £2 7s 6d. The Neiv Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited report as folloAvs:—A very , large yarding of pigs in all classes with the exception of Aveaners and slips. Entry met with, keen competition, heavy baconers. showing a small advance on late rates. Prices s realised AA’ere:— HeaA T y baconers, account G. E.
