NUKUHOU CLEARING SALE GOOD PRICES RECEIVED j Aliessrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Opotiki, report having held a successful clearing sale on account of D. C. Anderson, Elsq., Nukuliou, on -March 21. There was a very large and representative attendance of buyers coming from Rotorua, and Waikato districts. The sheep and cattle offered were of' a high standard, also the dairy heifers submitted. Competition for sheep was keen at fully late rates while station cattle sold under steady competition at fully recent cattle fair realisations. The dairy heifers sold under very keen, competition at considerably higher values than recent ruling rates. Horses and sundries also sold exceptionally well. Realisations: —2th ewes, 32s Gd; 4, 5 and 6-year ewes 25s 6d; 2th wethers, 21s 3d to 235; ewe lambs, 20s Gd; wether lambs, 16s ; shearling Romney rams, 4J guineas; agcdi Romney rams, 31 guineas. Fat P(A. and Hereford cows and heifers, £6 14s; P.A. and Hereford steers, £6; run cows, P.A. and Hereford, £5 6s; forward condition 34 year steers, £7 9s; 2-ycar P.A. bv.jls £l2 15s to £ls; 20 months Jersey heifers, £6 to. £8 7s 6d. , Draught horses, £45; medium draughts £2O. The principal sales were —446 2th ewes at 32s 6d; 4’36 4, 5 and 6 year ewes at 25s 6d; 177 shorn ewe hoggets 20s 6d; 121 shorn wether hoggets 16s; 343 2th wethers 21s Gd; 96 2 and 4th wethers at 23s 2d. 26 run cows at £5 6s; 74 20 month P.A. and Hereford steers £6; 30 fat cows and heifers, £6 14s; 77 Jersey heifers averaged £7, 4s.
