Surf Demcnstraticn. The Whakatiuie Surf Club’s team was not able to accompany the. Opotiki Club’s team to Gisborne on Saturday for- the inter-dub demonstration yesterday. Congratulations were extended also to the bellman Air. L. Clarke. Young Farmers’ Visit. A visit to the Bay of Plenty wiil be made by a -party of 1-10 young farmers from the Alanawatu in Alay. The party will arrive in Opotiki on Alay 21 and will then leave for and Tauranga. f .l he party' will be brought by six motor buses, with other vehicles to carry tbs baggage, two cooks will travel with the party, which will bring its own bed. J lie total cost to each member will be Co. Presentation to Constable Julian. The congratulations of members of the Gisborne, police force were extended to Constable It. Julian last Thurs. day afternoon on his recent marriage. On behalf ol the force, -inspector G. J 3, Edwards presented Constable Julian with a crystal table lamp and referred to his popularity among his fellow officers and the cordial relations existing between, him and the public. Other speakers who took* the opportunity or congratulating the newlybeda were Senior-Sergeant J. F. M-ALu-namara, Detectives G. A. McAVkirtcr and G. 15.I 5 . Belton, and Gunstables H. Hunter and Al. Teoee. Constable Julian made a suitable reply.
