“DRAECERMAN COURAGE” • “Draegermaji Courage,” a romance of the goldfields, will be shown on the screen of the De Luxe Theatre on Tuesday aiid Wednesday. Anthony Coldeway, jv'ho wrote this thrilling story evidences, his understanding of the way in .which erring humanity can rise to the stature of the gods when confronted with the misery of his fellow men. ‘ ‘Dracgernf&a Courage” is a melodrama of tins mines, telling how the men entrapped in the bowels of the earth arc- brought back to the sunlight ,by the self-effac-ing bravery of their fellows. Trapped in an abandoned mine shaft, standing in water that slowly seeped through the walls and roof until it reached tu. their chins—these men. waited, fighting for life, through the long, dark hours for the rescue crew to reach them. Starving, alone in the silence, they kept up their hope as a tiny hole was drilled through to give them food and to establish communication with the outside world. Barton- Mac Lane has the role of the ' Draegerman whose reckless daring effected the rescue of those that death and disregard of his own life, finally had left, while Jean Muir, his sweetheart aided him.. Henry O’Neill plays the part of Miss Muir’s father, a country doctor who lias dedicated his life to the service of the miners, who is one of the men caught in the catastrophe. Others in the cast- arc: Robert Barrat, Addison .Richards, Helen MacKellar, Gordon Olive, Joseph Crehan, Priscilla Lyon, Walter Miller, Herbert Heywood and Ben Hendricks. The production was directed by Louis King. “ARMOURED CAR” 1A new phase of the constant battle between the law and the underworld which has never before been touched upon on the screen, comes to the Do Luxe Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday, in Universal’s thrill drama, ‘‘Armoured Car.” . The picture play, which presents Robert .Wilcox, Judith Barrett, Irving Pichcl and Cesar Romero, deals with the transportation of cash and securities in steel-protected, heavily guarded payroll cars, and the attempts of a clever, ruthless criminal to' rob them. Exciting scenes in the photoplay include the dynamiting of a mountain -road and the wrecking of one of the trucks; as well, as the blasting of a. bridge in an attempt to secure the treasure of another truck. The stoi'y chiefly concerns the romance,, of Wilcox, as a truck guard, and Miss Barrett as liis fiancee.
