The Weather.
The following weather forecast for the 24 hours commencing at 9 a.m. to-day was issued by the mvteerlogieal office: —The indications are for moderate northerly minds freshening somewhat. Weather clouding over with mist or fog in places, and some scattered drizzle or rain. The barometer has a rising tendency. Seas smooth, to moderate, v Fast Tracks. “The fastest tracks I have ever run on,” said C. B, Holmes, England, after he had .won the 100yds. and 220 yds. at the Empire Games, when referring to the sprint and theiufecular tracks at the Sydney 'Cric ket where the Games were held. C. If. Matthews, New Zealand, who broke all Empire, and Australian records for three and six miles, endorsed the remarks of Holmes.
