OXFORD ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of this Board was held on Wednesday last, all the members being present. He was also instructed to take legal proceedings against any prson removing gravel, without permission, from the property of the. Boarii. Gundry. who asked the Board to return his deposit money on his contract at the Main Drain, waich he had thrown up'; amplication not entertained. The correspondence was thisn read: — Prom Mr H. Smith, requesting the Board to register his leas, of land at View Hill ; resolved, to forward the lease to Mr Smith, and let him register it if he wished to do so. From the Treasury, notifying having forwarded J>77 5s sd, balance of subsidy, also 2s 6d slaughter house f .es. From the Ch_irm_n of the Caileton School Committee, requesting the Btoard to put some gravei m a hole on the road near the school g/ite. From the proprietor of the 'Oxford as» Oust Observer, "asking to be favortd with the Board's advertisements ; resolved, to divide the advertisements between the two local papers. From L :nd Registry Office, notifying the registration of Proclamation for lakng land for widening the Main Drain. From the Hospital Board, stating the amount of contribution : due from the Oxford Board was j.5. 12s. From Mr T. W. Stringer, solicitor for Mr Finlay, askiug the Board to give access to Mr Finlay's land from the Main Drain, also
