To t^!ke Stains of Wine out op Linen — Hold the articles m milk while
it is boiling on the fire and the stains will soon disappear. To Sweeten Casks. — Mix half-a-pint of vitriol with a quart of water, pour it into the barrel, and roll it about ; next day add one pound of chalk, and roll again. Bung down tor three or four days, then rinse well with hot water. To Soften Hard Water or Purify Riyer Water. — Simply boil it, and then leave it exposed to the atmosphere.
