Members of the Ohinemuri Agricultural and Horticultural Society are reminded that the annual meeting of the society will be held, in the Council Chambers, Paeroa, this evening at halfpast seven o'clock.
Mr G. P. de Castro, the well-known Paeroa chemist, has a notification in this issue regarding the merits of some of the numerous household remedies stocked by him. He also draws attention to his "Priscilla" floor, pol:sh, which makes such a delightful dancing surface, and it is in great demand for preparing floors for socials and parties.
We understand that Mr W,i Cullen has purchased Mr F. A. B. Cameron's property of two acres on Puke Hill and also two acres from Mr E. V. Quick facing Cullen Street. The area is to be cut up into building sites, and as it is in such a favourite locality there is bound to be a good demand for sections.
On King's Birthday (Saturday, June 3rd) the locai post office will open from 9 to 10 a.m. for the transaction of all business except money order and Savings Bank. Mails usually made up during the day will close at 8 a.m. All correspondence intended to be despatched on June 3rd must be posted by 8 am. There will be no delivery by letter carrier, but letters may be obtained at the post office counter between 9 and 10 a.m. The telephone exchange will be closed all day.
