MINING ACCIDENT.
MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED
BY EXPLOSION

An elderly miner named William Hill, aged 63 years, employed in the bottom of a winze in one of the low levels at the Wai hit mine, was badly injured in the face by an explosion, it is thought, of a detonator.
One of his eyes was practically torn out and the sight in it totally destroyed.
