The anniversary social in connection with the Loyal Jubilee Lodge of Oddiellows is to be held in the Criterion Theatre, Paeroa, on Wednesday, 7th June.

* Attention is directed to an importantnew advertisement on our first page today by Mr James Renshaw, the wellknown wholesale and retail ironmonger, leather and grindery dealer, of Thames.

The usual picture show by Montgomery's Picture Company at Paeroa this week has been unavoidably postponed until baturday evening, when an entirely new programme will be submitted. The programme will appear in our Friday's issue.

Mr J. A. Allan, local manager for the Ohinemuri Light and Power Company, requests that those who have complaints regarding the gas supply will ring up 'phone No. 27 or send a post card to the office.

Mr J. A. Wilson, district engineer for the Public Works Department, is at present in Paeroa, and will remain in this district fora few days in connection with the improvement works to the rivers.

The latest addition to the list ot New Zealand newspapers is the " Morrinsville Star and Matamata Gazette," a bi-weekly published at Morrinsville. It is printed and published by Mr j. H. Clandge, who was for a short time a resident of Paeroa. We wish the Morrinsville Star a long and prosperous life.

Paeroa lovers of roller skating will learn with pleasure that the Choral Hall,. Wharf Street, is to be re-opened as a skating rink on Friday evening, the rink being open from half-past seven to ten o'clock. Particulars as to charges are notified in the advertisement in another column. >

In connection with the Winter Show at Auckland from the 22nd to the 27th inst, the Northern Steamship Company notifies that tickets at excursion rates will be issued from Paeroa to Auckland, the charge being 10s saloon return. These tickets will be issued from the 20th to the 26th inst., and will be available for return for 14 days from date of issue.

The opening of Miss Milgrew's dancing class in Paeroa on Monday evening was celebrated with a ll long night" in" the Criterion Concert Hall, when there was a good attendance, and those present spent an enjoyable evening. Mr A. McCarthy made a capable M.C., and dance music was supplied by Miss G. Adlam (piano) and Mr C. Mettam (violin), extras being played by Miss N. Wilson and Mr A. McCarthy.
