The electors' roll for the Paeroa Riding is now open tor inspection at the County Council office at Paeroa.

The usual periormance by Montgomery's Picture Company will be held in the Criterion Theatre on Thursday evening.

Attention of consumers is drawn by advertisement to the tact that the Paeroa water supply will be cut off at the railway station on Wednesday atternoon from 1 p.m. till 4 p.m. All consumers below that point will be affected by this.

On Thursday next, 18th inst, a social in aid of the hall funds is to be held in the Hikutaia Hall. H'kutaia socials are proverbially successful, and with Mr E. J. Walters as secretary to the committee the function this week is bound to prove enjoyable.

The Paeroa School Committee will hold a special meeting to-morrow afternoon to consider the applications for the position ot first assistant in the secondary department of the school. The Board of Education has recommended Miss M. Craig for the position.

Mr Archie Burns, ex-Mayor of Thames, intends to be a candidate for the Education Board at the coming election, and will stand for the district of which Paeroa and the goldfields form a portion.
