GOLF NOTES.

OPENING OF SEASON

The Paeroa Golf Club held its opening for the season on Saturday last under favourable circumstances. The weather was all that could be desired, the links were in good order, and a number of visitors were present. A foursome was played during the afternoon, Miss Hague Smith and Matthews winning, with' Mrs Porritt and Barrance second. Afternoon tea, provided by the ladies, was much enjoyed by the players and their friends.

The local club promises to be very strong numerically this season, several new members having already expressed their intention of joining. At an early date an invitation will be extended to the Waihi and Thames Golt Clubs to

play at Paeroa,
