AJOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER. ■ „ NOTICE is hereby given that at 'a'{special Meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council held on Thursday, the 6th day of April, 1911, the following resolution was passed, and will be submitted for confirmation at ■''the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held 011 Thursday, the 4th day of May, 1911, at 2 p.m., at the Council Chambers at Paeroa. "THAT in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 23 of "The Counties Act, 1908," the Ohinemuri County Council resolves, by way of Special Order, as follows : — 1. The present division of the County of Ohiuemuri into Four Ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said County shall be divided into Six Ridings, to be called respectively :—-Karangahake Riding, Paeroa Riding, Waitekauri Riding, Waikino Riding, Waitoa Riding, and Netherton Riding, which said Ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto. 2. The said Ohinemuri County Council shall consist of Nine members, who shall be elected as follows: — (a) The electors of the Karaugahake Riding shall elect Three (3) Councillors. (b) The electors of the Paeroa Riding shall elect Two (2) Councillors. (c) The electors of the Waitekauri Riding, Waikiuo Riding, the Waitoa Riding, and the Netherton Riding shall elect One Councillor each. 3. The alteration hereby made shall take effect on and after the Twenty-third day of October, 1911. SCHEDULE. Contract No. 103 —For general repairs and renewals to bridges and culverts on the Rotokohu Road. Contract No. 104—For general repairs and improvements to Peel's Creek-Incognita Road. Contract No. 105—For laying one chain platform and forming and gravelling eight chains footpath near Doherty's Creek. Contract No. 106—For forming about 12 chains Mangaiti Bridge Road. Contract No. 107 —For clearing about 360 chains of drains at Waitoa. Contract No. 108—For clearing and improving 60 chains of drain on the Ngutumunga Road. Contract No. 109—For the simply and delivery of .£2OO worth of metal on the Main Road near Karaugahake. Contract No. 110 —For the supply and delivery of ,£IOO worth of metal on the road from the Main Road to the Rahu Road. Contract No. Ill—For clearing the Golden Cross-Whariki-rauponga track for a length of 480 chains. Contract No. 112 —For forming, culverting, arid metalling 28 x/n chains of Coronation Street in the northern extension of Paeroa Township. Plans and specifications to be seen at the County offices, Paeroa, on and after Monday, Ist May, 1911. Each tender must be accompanied by a marked cheque or cash deposit of 5 per cent on its amount,, addressed to the Chairman. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted. Every male inhabitant of New Zealand who on the Ist day of March, 1911, had attained the age of fourteen years or upwards, but had not attained the age of twenty-one, and who is a British subject, and has resided in New Zealand for at least six months, is hereby required before 7 p.m. on the 2nd day of June, 1911, to fill in a prescribed form of registration in respect to military training under the Defence Acts, and to post or deliver same to the Area Sergeant-Major of the territorial area in which the applicant for registration resides. Forms of registration may be obtained at any post office or police station. Failure to comply with this renders the person liable to the following penalties under Defence Act, 1909, Part VII, sections 51 and 52 :— 51. (1.) Every person who, being required to register under Part VI of this Act, fails to do so within j the time and in the manner prescribed, or who without lawful excuse evades or fails to render the personal service required of him under that Part, is liable to a fine not exceeding five pounds, and shall not be entitled to be enrolled as an elector under Division II of the Legislature Act, 1908, nor to employment or continuation of employment in any branch of the Government service. "52. (1.) Every person is liable to a fine not exceeding ten pounds who prevents or attempts to prevent any person in his employ and required to serve in the Senior Cadets or General Training Section or Territorial Force from rendering the personal service required of him by Part VI of this Act, or in any way penalizes such last-mentioned person for rendering such service, whether by reducing his wages or deducting therefrom any money, or by dismissing him from his employment, or in any other manner : '' Provided that this section shall not be construed to require any person to pay any person in his employ any wages for the time when he is absent from work for the purpose of being trained under the said Part."
