FRENCH CRIPPEN CASE.
WIFE DISAPPEARS
BODY FOUND BURIED
[By Electric Telegraph.]
Paris, April 20,
Victor Gaubert has been arrested for the murder of his wife Eliza in the village of Lappene, near Marseilles, the circumstances resembling the Cnppen case. Eliza disappeared in October, her husband alleging she had gone to Mauritius. Later he announced her death, and married Antonio Sidolles, a village girl. He left home during repairs, and workmen noticed the tiles in the scullery were uneven, and discovered Eliza. Gaubert states that Eliza and he had a violent altercation over Antonio, and she suddenly dropped dead. Fearing arrest he buried the body.
