MOTORISTS FINED

TRAFFIC OFFENCES CITY POLICE COURT In the City Police Court yesterday before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., the Police Department and the Traffic Department of the Dunedin City Corporation prosecuted motorists and others for recent breaches of the traffic regulations. For driving without due care and attention Reginald William Robert Graham was fined £4 with costs (10s), and Robert Neville Everest was fined £2 with costs (10s). On a similar charge William Harold Patterson Gray (Mr C. H. Stevens) was ordered to pay costs only, and was convicted and discharged on a charge of being an unlicensed driver. Ernest William George Powell was fined £2 10s with costs (10s) for failing to keep to the left of the roadway, and James William Sherwin was fined £2 with costs (10s) for failing to give way to traffic on the right. For exceeding the speed limit Murray William Edmond and Neil Clarke Gregory were both fined 20s with costs (10s), and Alfred Curtis was fined £2 10s with costs (10s). Frederick Felstead Thomas was fined £1 with costs (10s) for overtaking another vehicle when he did not have clear visibility. lan McEwan and Keith Fickersgill were both fined 10s with costs (10s) for riding bicycles on the footpath. Parking Offences For parking in prohibited areas fines of 15s with costs (10s) were imposed on William Thomas Gibson, Thomas Michael Hoare, Charles Jack Rawlinson, and Edward York Robinson. Andrew Wilson Jamieson, David Thomas Mason Luke, Philip Hugh Walter Nevill, and Philip Hutcheson Pullyn were fined 10s with costs (10s) for parking in excess of the time limit. Lionel Werner was fined 10s with costs (10s) for parking on a taxi stand. Chimney Fires For allowing chimneys to catch fire fines of 10s with costs (10s) were imposed on Georgina Finnie, Patrick William Oscar Otto, Allan Wheeler Seddon, Harold Colin Smith, Thomas Brown Veitch, and Leslie Victor Watts. For a similar offence Annie Brookes was ordered to pay costs only.
