EXPORT TO EUROPE
ACCUMULATED COAL STOCKS UNUSUAL SITUATION IN BRITAIN N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent Rec 10 p.m LONDON, Dec. 10. Coal Board officials are conferring with coal exporting firms on the Tyneside and in South Wales this week to decide what quantities of coal can be exported to Europe. The decision to authorise these exports is not due to any immediate surplus but to the fact that stocks of coal are accumulating at some pitheads because of a lack of rail transport to move it. It has therefore been decided that where such stocks can conveniently be moved by sea they should be exported to Europe. The quantities are not expected to be more than 10 shipments. • •
