GENEVA AGREEMENTS

SEARCHING STUDY DEMANDED Rec. 11 p.m. OTTAWA, Dec. 10. The Opposition Leader demanded a searching study of the Geneva trade agreements when the Prime Minister, Mr Mackenzie King, moved a resolution in the House of Commons for ratification of the agreements. Mr John Bracken, Progressive Conservative leader declared that ratification would mean ’ “ the death knell ” of British preference. . Mr M. J. Coldwell, Co-operative Commonwealth Federation leader, said he had the greatest respect for the American people, but did not want to exchange domination of Downing Street for the domination of Washington. Mr C. D. Howe indicated that the Government may agree to the Opposition requests for the appointment of a committee to examine the Geneva agreements.
