DECISION RESERVED
COMPENSATION CLAIM The Otago Land Sales Committee yesterday reserved its decision on the compensation claim for £31,844 by the estate of Thomas Morton Macaulay, concerning the transfer of the Macaulay block, formerly part of the Moeraki Estate, to the Crown. The application was opposed by the Crown, which considered that the basic value of the land and buildings was £18,749. Evidence was given by Crown witnesses on the estimated productive capacity of the block of land.
