The Bank of New Zealand, London, states that the London wool sales have closed with a good inquiry from all branches of the trade. There was a strong general competition, and the previous easier tendency towards inferior types, mainly disappeared. Greasy Merino were unchanged, and New Zealand scoured crossbred prices remained fully firm. Greasy crossbred were easier. The current quotations for wools of average condition are:—Merinos, super, 60/64’s, 39d to 42d; halfbreds, 56’s, 29}d to 33d; halfbreds, 50/56’s, 27Jd to 31d; crossbreds, 50’s, 24d to 27d; crossbreds, 48/50’s, 22d to 24d; crossbreds, 46/48’s, 21d to 23d: crossbreds. 44/46’s, 20d to 21Jd.
