UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES IN FARM TRAGEDY

P.A. NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 10. Unusual circumstances were associated with the death of Spencer Wall, aged 10, at a Pihama farm yesterday afternoon. Slipping while standing on a household tank, he grasped a lowvoltage power line, released his hold, and fell into the tank, in which the water was fairly deep. The accident was seen by the boy’s brother, aged 12, and within a short time members of the farm staff went to the rescue. It was necessary to pierce the tank with holes to let out the water before the boy could be got out. Artificial respiration was applied without success. , It was thought the boy was electrocuted before he entered the tank, and that death was immediate. .
