CHRISTMAS RELIEF
DISBURSEMENT BY R.S.A. AUTHORITY TO SPEND’ £I6OO The Relief Committee of the Dunedin Returned Services’ Association will distribute up to £I6OO in Christmas relief grants this year. Authority for the disbursements was given to the committee last night by the Executive Committee. It was reported that a portion of the amount would later be granted to the association by the Otago Patriotic Society in respect to returned men of the Great War who enlisted in Otago. Christmas Treat Cancelled
The Christmas Treat Committee reported that the annual children’s treat, which was to have been held on December 13, had been cancelled owing to the infantile paralysis precautions, but the mothers of the children of deceased servicemen had been asked to call at the association’s office to obtain presents, such as sweets and balloons, for the children. The committee explained that other things which had been purchased for the treat would be retained for use next year. Three nominations for membership were received. The deaths of three members were reported, as well as four resignations. Seven transfers inwards and 10 outwards were approved. The president, Mr M. S. Myers, and Messrs R. S. Orr, D. L. Wood, K. W. Stewart, H. H. Parata, A. W. Barnett, A. J. H. Jeavons, R. J. Calvert, N. G. Stewart, W. E. Earnshaw, and W. G. Nicolson were present.
