BREAK-UP CEREMONY St. Thomas’s Girls’ School The break-up ceremony of the St. Thomas’s Girls’ School was held on Monday. The Very Rev. Father O’Reilly presided and associated with him were the Rev. Fathers O’Leary, C.S.S.R., Hall, Fahey, Pound, and Keane. After a short programme of verse-speaking, drill exercises. pianoforte duets, and choral singing. prizes presented by Father O'Reilly were:— Christian doctrine: Margaret Russell 1, Frances Finlay 2. Commercial subjects: Patricia Dwyer. General knowledge: Patricia Fitzgerald. Short addresses were given by the Very Rev. Father O’Reilly, and Fathers O’Leary and Fahey. PICNIC COMMITTEE Mr R. Fox presided at the annual meeting of the Ardgowan-Airedale-Rosebery Picnic Committee. Thanks were expressed to Mr N. C. Gilchrist for his liberal support, and lo the North Otago Highland Pipe Band and friends for their assistance at the picnic Officers elected were: Patron, Mr N. C. Gilchrist; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. Kirkpatrick; assistant secretary, Mr I. Robb. It was decided to hold a picnic on Boxing Day, and to invite the North Otago Highland Pipe Band.
