RENOWN COLLIERIES DIVIDEND
Daily Times Special Service. The net profit of Renown Colleries, Ltd., is £1037 higher at £17.486 for the year ended July 31. A provision of £8592 has been made for taxes, against £9348 last year, and £1793 is transferred to general reserve, leaving £7IOO to meet the unchanged dividend needs of 7 per cent, preference and lOd a share ordinary, paid on October 4. The directors now recommend that these interim dividend payments be the final dividend for the year to the end of July last. Under the Waikato coal mines control emergency regulations, 1942, the basis of the average net profit has been fixed, and settlement of the company's claim made by the mines department. The sum received from the Government is £44,114. The dividend from Waikato Carbonisation, Ltd., again £I6OO, is taken into the total income
