LAMBETH CONFERENCE

BISHOP BENNETT TO ATTEND P.A. WELLINGTON, Dec. 8. His decision to attend the Lambeth Conference in Britain next year was announced by the Bishop of Aotearoa, Bishop Bennett, in St. Mark’s Church yesterday, Maori Mission Sunday Bishop Bennett said he was no longer a young man, and had given considerable thought to the matter. He felt

the necessity of the Maori people being represented in England, from where the missionaries had come who gave the best that had lifted the Maori race. While abroad, Bishop Bennett said, he would endeavour to give the people of England and Scotland an idea of how the church was progressing in New Zealand. He would also attend an important gathering of church missionary representatives in Amsterdam.
