MONTH’S IMPRISONMENT
SENTENCE FOR PILLAGING p.A. WELLINGTON, Dec. 8. Gordon. Graham McLeod, a waterside labourer, aged 41, was sentenced to one month’s hard labour by Mr W. F. Stilwell, S.M., to-day on a charge of the theft of 30 yards of dress material valued at £7 10s, from the Federal Steam Navigation Company. “The courts have had to take hard measures to deal with pillaging, and I do not see that the circumstances m this case are any different,” said the magistrate.
