THE WEATHER
MODERATE TEMPERATURES 'The official weather forecast covering the ensuing 24 hours, which was issued yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington, is:— Situation.—A weak trough of low pressure extends from west of Auckland to Norfolk Island, and an anti-cyclone lies over the central Tasman and South Island. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Light to moderate winds, mainly from the east. Weather cloudy about the Otago Peninsula, but elsewhere fair. Temperatures, moderate near the coast and warm Inland. Further Outlook.—Mainly fair. Weather in Dunedin.—Yesterday was fine and mild, with 2hr 42min of sunshine. The maximum thermometer reading was 56deg, and the minimum 41deg. There was a light north-eftst breeze. Barometric pressure rose steadily during the day to 30.30 in (1026 millibars), which was the reading at midnight.
