SOME COASTAL SHOWERS The following official weather forecast for Otago covering the ensuing 24 hours was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation.—Anti-cyclones are centred over the south-west Tasman Sea and east of the Chatham Islands. Weak depressions are located east of Marlborough and north-east of Norfolk Island. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Mode-rate south-west winds, weather cloudy and cool, with some - coastal showers. Further Outlook.—Fair. Weather in Dunedin.—The weather was overcast in Dunedin during the greater part of the week-end. No sunshine was recorded on Saturday, and a light rain began to fall in the late afternoon, O.Olin being recorded. The thermometer readings were: Maximum, 56deg; minimum, 52.5 deg, and grass minimum 49.6 deg, A steady fall Of rain totalling 0.12 in during Saturdav night was followed' by a dull morning, but the sun appeared in the mid-afternoon, and 3hr 18min of sunshine were registered. An east wind on Saturday changed to a south-west breeze yesterday, when temperatures ranged from 50.4 deg to 57deg, the grass minimum being 48.7 deg. The barometer rose yesterday to a level of 30.12 in (1020 millibars) at midnight.
