CLUB MATCHES Interclub Match.—A match between teams representing the Otago and at. Clair Clubs, played with handicap allowances at Balmacewen during the weekend, resulted in a win for the Otago side bv 224 games to 121 games. Otago Club.—The first and second rounds of the Club Championship were played at Balmacewen on Saturday. Results First round: J. A. Scouler beal A G. Sime 4 and 3, J. N. Lemon beat S. J. Macdonald 3 and 2 J. F. Byers beat J W. Mclntosh 1 up, A. Gibbs beat L. B Whinam 2 up, A. H. Boyd beat P. J Gill 3 and 2, F. W. Dixon beat A. J. Aitken 1 up at the nineteenth, T. C Tyrrell beat W. G. Aitken 6 and 5, and B. V. Wright beat N. H. North 3 and 1. Second round: J. N. Lemon beat J. A. Scouler 1 up, A. Gibbs beat J. F. Byers 3 and 2, F. W. Dixon beat A. H. Boyd 4 and 2, and T. C. Tyrrell beat B. V. Wright 1 up. Intermediate Championship (semi-finals): W.. D. McKenzie beat E. B. McDonald 4 and 3. Junior Championship (semi-finals): G. W. Bowron beat R. L. C. Grant 6 and 5 and R. A. Temple beal A. F. Ross 4 and 3. Single Handicap Knock-out (semi-final): S. F. Lamberi beat L. A. Rankin 6 and 5. St. Clair Club—Excellent scores were recorded in the Monthly Stroke Handicap played at St. Clair on Saturday afternoon, the winner in the A Grade being A. F. Martin (77—8—69), with J. K. Wood (79 —9—70) runner-up, while li. L. Boock (83—12—71) filled third place on a countback. The B Grade was won by J. F. Cardno (83—1 G—67), with E. L. Sinclair (89 —21—68) in second place, followed closely by W. J. Tointon (89—20—69). Belieknowes Club. The Fcftrr-ball Bogey Handicap played on Saturday afternoon resulted in a win for R. A. Penman and D. T. Martin with the good card of 8 up. R. Gillespie and G. Hughes were next with 7 up, followed by A. I. Murray and J. Harper, G. Gregory and M. G. Smith W. 11. Masters and I. Johnstone. A. H. Fairmaid and C. T. Lee 6 up. St. Clair Ladies’ Club. —The closing day of the St. Clair Ladies’ Golf Club and presentation of prizes will be held at Corstorphine links to-morrow. An L.G.U Medal will be played in the morning, commencing at 9 o’clock. In the afternoon a Stableford over nine holes (concealed partners), a long driving and approach, and putt competition, also putting and medal over nine holes for C Grade players, will be held. The president, Lady Sidey, will officiate at the presentation of prizes won during the year.
