RECORD BROKEN

OPEN CLASS HILL CLIMB SPORTS CAR CLUB A new record for the Otago Light Car Club’s hill climb was established on Saturday, when Mrs P. L. Lupp, driving a 10 h.p. M.G. (1250 c.c.), clocked lmin 7sec for the run. Mrs Lupp clipped 1 4-ssec off the previous record, which was set by R. W. Millis (Ford V 8) in 1939. A large crowd witnessed the events, for which good entries were received. Special mention should be made of the commendable effort of F. C. Coster driving a Morris, which he had redesigned for competition work. Results:— Class I (up to 1000 c.c.). —F. C. Coster (Morris 8), lmin 19 l-ssec, 1; R.
